About This Independent Publication
What this site is
Mail-Well.com is an independent publication about printing, mailing and paper packaging. It publishes explanations of how envelopes, labels, printed materials and paper packaging are made, specified and checked, together with a small, sourced historical archive about the company that once used the Mail-Well name.
Who it is for
The articles are written for people who buy, specify, run or maintain this kind of work: packaging and print buyers, plant and line staff, direct mail and fulfilment planners, and students of the industry. They assume curiosity rather than prior expertise.
What it covers
The site is organised into topic sections: envelopes, labels, commercial and packaging printing, paper packaging, converting and finishing equipment, and mailing and fulfilment. A separate Historical Archive documents Mail-Well, Inc. between 1994 and 2004. A section is added to the navigation once it has published articles.
What it is not
- It is not the website of the former Mail-Well, Inc., of Cenveo, or of any successor, and it does not hold their records, documents or logos.
- It does not sell envelopes, labels, printing or packaging machinery, take orders or give quotes.
- It is not an email service or an email-marketing resource. The name comes from the domain, not from the topic.
Relationship to the former Mail-Well, Inc.
Mail-Well, Inc. changed its name to Cenveo in May 2004. This site is not owned, licensed, endorsed or operated by that company or its successors. Historical company names appear here only to identify the subject of research and are the property of their owners. Historical articles are written from published sources and say so.
How the content is produced
Every article lists its sources and shows when it was last updated. The standards the site applies to sourcing, figures, historical material, the use of AI tools and commercial relationships are set out in the Editorial Policy.
